Landslide cancelled train traffic between Radevtsi and Krustets
19/06/2007

As of 08:30 hrs this morning train traffic in the line section between Radevtsi and Krustets has been cancelled due to landslide in front of one of the tunnels. The landslide has broken the catenary wire as well.

Three trains are staying at different stations in the region of the landslide. These are:
- the regional train No 40102 from Stara Zagora to Rousse Marshalling Yard;
- the fast train No 4641 from Shumen to Plovdiv; and
- the international train No 498 from Istanbul to Bucharest.

The emergency teams of the National Railway Infrastructure Company are cleaning the tracks from the land slide. Because of the lack of voltage in the catenary wire, “Bulgarian State Railways” have prepared a diesel locomotive to haul the trains in this line section after train traffic is restored.
