Trains are redirected due to vandal attempt to steal catenary line
02/06/2007

As of 01:10 hrs this morning train traffic between Kazichene and Musachevo has been cancelled due to a vandal attempt to steal catenary line in result of which 500 m of catenary wire were broken. This is the fifth similar case for the last week. Thefts of catenary wire result in the lack of voltage in the catenary line network which makes it impossible to operate trains in the section and train compositions are redirected via other routes.

Currently three trains, scheduled to run via Sofia – Kazichene – Musachevo – Stolnik are redirected via Iliantsi. These are:
• Express train “Chaika” ¹ 3602, which departs from Bourgas at 05:25 and arrives in Sofia at 11:50;
• Fast train ¹ 3621, which departs from Sofia at 07:20 and arrives in Bourgas at 14:30; and
• Regional train ¹ 30121, which departs from Sofia at 08:40 and arrives in Koprivshtitsa at 10:57 ÷

The redirecting of these three trains via Iliantsi will extend their journey time with about 15 minutes.

Freight trains, which are scheduled to run via Kazichene – Musachevo section, are also redirected via Iliantsi.
