Railways employees have prevented a collision between a passenger train and a rock

About 08:15 this morning in the line section Mezdra - Rebarkovo a collision between the express train “Yantra” (Gorna Oriahovitsa – Sofia) and a rock on the tracks has been prevented. The incident has been avoided thanks to the well-timed actions of conscientious employees of “Bulgarian state railways” EAD.
About 08:00 this morning the locomotive crew of a regional train noticed a rock from a landslide on the railway tracks between Rebarkovo and Mezdra. The locomotive-drivers immediately stopped the train and got through to the dispatchers so that they can hold down the approaching express train “Yantra”. Meanwhile, the locomotive crew went out on the tracks and signaled to the locomotive-drivers of the express train.
The managing team of “Bulgarian state railways” EAD will award the locomotive personnel of the regional train for the well-timed and professional deed.
