The first two EMUs of Siemens arrived

On 16th December the first two electric multiple units (EMU) “Desiro” of Siemens arrived in Bulgaria. Their delivery is in compliance with the contract between “Bulgarian State Railways” EAD and Siemens for the procurement of 25 new EMUs.
After the new EMUs undergo the necessary technical tests on the territory of Republic of Bulgaria and the relevant safety certificates are issued, the new trains will be put into regular operation as of end-January 2008.
The composition of these two EMUs includes three cars. These new trains will operate along the route Sofia – Pernik.
