The United Transit Tariff – ÅÒÒ

The tariff has been in force since 01.11.1951. It has been amended and modernized many times. Participants in it are the following railways:
• The Byelorussian Railway (BC)
• The Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ)
• The Vietnamese Railways (VNR)
• The Railways of the Republic of Kazakhstan (KZH)
• The Chinese Railways (ÊÆÄ)
• The Railways of the Korean People’s Democratic Republic
• The Kirghiz Railway
• The Latvian Railway State Shareholders’ Company (LDZ)
• A Shareholders’ Company with a Special Purpose
• The Lithuanian Railways (LG)
• GP Moldovan Railway (CFM)
• The Mongolian Railway (MTZ)
• The Russian Railways (RZD)
• The Tajik Railway
• The Uzbek Railways
• The State Administration of the Railway Transport of the Ukraine (UZ)
• Estonian Railway Shareholders’ Company (EVR)

All the above-described participants in the ÅÒÒ are members of the Agreement on International Goods Transport by Rail (SMGS).
The present Tariff is applied for goods transported under the conditions of SMGS and the Uniform Rules of the Contract for International Carriage of Goods by Rail (CIM), transit through countries whose railways participate in ETT in the following cases:
• between countries whose railways participate in the Tariff;
• between countries whose railways participate in the Tariff, on one hand, and countries whose railways do not participate in it.

The present Tariff was prepared in Chinese and Russian.

Amendments and additions on the Tariff are published not later than 15 days before the date of their entry into force. The official edition they are published in in the Republic of Bulgaria is the Tariff News.

For the calculation of carriage prices and additional charges, the Swiss franc has been established as the tariff currency. The actual weight of the goods is rounded up at 100 kg, both for small and wagon consignments.
The calculation of carriage prices is made separately for every transit railway company taking part in the carriage and member of the Tariff.
The following constitutes the basis for the calculation of the carriage price:
• the designation of the goods and the tariff class /in the tariff, goods are classified in three tariff classes/;
• mass of the consignment;
• type of the consignment;
• carriage distance on the particular railway;
• the speed of the carriage;
• other conditions envisaged in the tariff.
