|  | INTERCONTAINER-INTERFRIGO (ICF) is a multinational joint-stock company for the development of combined transport and of carriages at controlled temperature, established in 1993 after the merging of Intercontainer (established 1949) and Intercontainer (established 1967), with headquarters in Brussels and executive offices in Basel.
ICF is the leading operator in Europe in the field of combined transport of intermodal transport units – multi-ton containers, replaceable bodies and semi-trailers (products commercialized under the Intercontainer brand) and in the carriages sector with controlled temperature (products commercialized under the Interfrigo brand).
The General Representative of Intercontainer-Interfrigo in Bulgaria is BDZ EAD.
INTERCONTAINER Services offered by Intercontainer are: 1. Railway transport Carriage on rail in international traffic between two stations allowed for Intercontainer traffic.
2. Additional services Door-to-door carriage with freight automobiles. Loading onto railway wagons (loading and securing). Re-loading from a railway wagon onto a freight automobile or unloading in a loading/unloading ramp for preliminary (following) carriage on rail. Control of refrigerator carriages (Frigo services).
Intercontainer has the capacity to render other services on the basis of special agreements, excepting customs charging of the goods and some other administrative formalities.
All contracts between the client and Intercontainer are made on the basis of the General Trading Conditions that are handed out on request by the General Directorate of Intercontainer or by the national representatives (BDZ EAD – for the Republic of Bulgaria).
Placing an order for transport is preceded by an offer by Intercontainer specifying the exact volume of the services, and the number of the offer is entered in the Bulletin de remise by the client.
Admitted for transport are empty and loaded UTI (multi-ton containers, replaceable bodies and semi-trailers) meeting the technical prescriptions and the tariff regulations of the railways.
All Bulgarian stations that are open for work with wagon consignments in international traffic may also be used for processing goods in multi-ton containers on wagons in the Intercontainer mode, provided the processing of the containers takes place on the wagons. In the container terminal in Ruse, loading and unloading is performed with a crane with a lifting capacity of 20 tons, and in the Sofia terminal – with a mobile crane with a lifting capacity of 45 tons.
INTERFRIGO Interfrigo, together with its representatives in all European railways, organizes and performs carriages of perishable goods with wagons fit for the Interfrigo mode, that include: - mechanically refrigerating wagons, within train compositions, owned by BDZ EAD; - mechanically refrigerating isolated wagons (from the Interfrigo fleet); - freezing wagons (from the Interfrigo fleet); - isothermic wagons (from the Interfrigo fleet).
Services offered are, as follows: 1 . Interfrigo Transport (IFT) Services, including - loaning a wagon, organization of the transport; - for mechanically refrigerating wagons – supervision over the functioning of the mechanical equipment, maintaining the temperature regime during the transportation and feeding the refrigerating device.
2. Interfrigo Wagon service (IFW), including - for the mechanically refrigerating isolated wagons – loaning the wagon and supervision over the functioning of the machine equipment and maintaining the required temperature during the transportation; - for wagon freezers and isothermic wagons – loaning a wagon only.
3. Interfrigo Rental Service (IFR), including - for mechanically refrigerating wagons, wogon freezres and isothermic wagons – long-term hiring of rolling stock.
In addition to the above-mentioned services and within its capacity, Interfrigo also offers special services on the basis of special agreements.
