Documents required by BDZ EAD for the carriage of goods in international traffic:

• according to the COTIF convention – a CIM consignment note;
- Part 1 – the original of the consignment note (for the receiver)
- Part 2 – a waybill (feuille de route)
- Part 3 – note of reception (bulletin d’arrivée) – for the receiving railway company
- Part 4 – a duplicate of the consignment note (for the forwarder)
- Part 5 – a counterfoil of the expedition (souche d’expedition) – for the forwarding railway company
All the parts are stuck together in the upper edge and represent one whole.

• according to the SMGS agreement – a SMGS consignment note;
The consignment note consists of:
- Part 1 – the original of the consignment note (for the receiver)
- Part 2 – a waybill (for the receiving railway company)
- Part 3 – a duplicate of the consignment note (for the forwarder)
- Part 4 – a note of delivery of the goods (for the receiving railway company)
- Part 5 – a note of receipt (bulletin de reception) for the receiver
- a waybill (for every railway company on the goods’ route)

For the carriage of containers in the INTERCONTAINER MODE – a CIM consignment note and a ‘bulletin de remise’.

The ‘bulletin de remise’ is prepared in 7 copies, as follows:
- Part 1 – accompanies the goods (the receiving railway company sends it to ICF Basel);
- Part 2 – accompanies the goods (for the receiving railway company);
- Part 3À – accompanies the goods (for the customs office);
- Part 3Â – accompanies the goods (for the receiver);
- Part 4 – remains with the forwarding railway company and is sent to ICF Basel; - part 5 – for the forwarding railway company;
- Part 6 – for the forwarder.
All the parts represent one whole document

Goods must also be accompanied by documents required by the relevant state organizations, namely:
- The Customs Agency – www.customs.bg/index_bg.html;
- The Ministry of the Environment and the Waters Ìèíèñòåðñòâî íà îêîëíàòà ñðåäà è âîäèòå – www.2.mocw.government.bg;
- The Ministry of Health – www.mh.government.bg/hei/hei;

- The Ministry of Economy – www.mi.government.bg.
