Transportation of parcels is carried out on trains that have luggage wagons in their compositions from and to stations open for this activity.

Items of luggage are accepted as parcels with a weight of up to 35 kg, 2 m in length and 1 cub.m. of volume, well packed and with a label placed by the sender on each separate parcel, the label containing: the forwarding and receiving station, signs or numbers of the parcels, the sender’s and the receiver’s address.
Not accepted for transportaion are:
• parcels with old, unremoved labels and indications, as well as those wrapped in polyethylene only;
• parcels containing explosive, self-inflammable, ignitable, poisonous, corrosive, bad-smelling, contagious, radioactive and other similar substances;
The sender is charged for notifying the receiver if the carriage document does not contain an indication "Will appear without notification".
When handing in the parcels, their value must be declared by the sender.
The railway carrier may check the content of the parcels declared. In cases of untrue data, the carrier may refuse to accept the parcels for transportation.
The delivery term of a parcel begins to elapse on the day following its handing in. The term for carriage is one day for parcels without re-loading, and two days for those with re-loading.
The delivery term ceases to elapse when the carriage was discontinued due to reasons beyond the railways or exonerating for them.
Parcels are released against an identity card /letter of attorney/.
Parcels that have arrived are kept free of charge until midnight of the day following the day of notification.
The notification of the client on the arrival of the parcel is made by telephone or a telegram and is paid by him.
Parcels are kept in specialized premises free of charge for up to 24 hours after the notification. After that they are charged 1 lev each per parcel and per day begun for the first 5 days, and 2 levs each for every following day.
