“Bulgarian State Railways” EAD and DB AG signed an Agreement for Cooperation

On 18th September 2006 in Berlin the Executive Director of “Bulgarian State Railways” EAD, Oleg Petkov, and the Executive Director and Chairman of the Board of the German railways, Hartmut Medorn, signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement. By virtue of this document, the German railways will assist the Bulgarian national railway carrier in the implementation of the necessary organizational, technical and operational reforms. Within their cooperation, the two railway companies will exchange experience in the sphere of business management. The aim of consultancy to be provided by German experts to their Bulgarian counterparts is the implementation of efficient reforms in “Bulgarian State Railways” EAD, which will transform the company into a commercially-oriented railway.

The Strategic Cooperation Agreement between BDZ EAD and DB AG was signed within the international trade fair for railway transport, Innotrans, which is being held in Berlin this week.
