BDZ put in operation German coaches in two trains between Sofia and Varna

As of tomorrow (1st November) the fast train No 2611 from Sofia to Varna, which departs from Sofia Central Station at 09:50, will operate with a renewed composition of recycled German coaches. As of 2nd November, the reverse fast train No 2610 from Varna to Sofia, which departs from Varna at 10:45, will also operate with such coaches. These two fast trains will run with identical coach compositions, including five recycled German coaches and a renovated buffet-car.
The five recycled German coaches in each composition are without compartments. Two of them are second class and three are mixed class (having both a first and a second-class zone). The mixed-class coaches have 25 first-class seats and 46 second-class seats.
The interior design and the sanitary facilities of the recycled coaches have been renovated. With a view to passenger safety, the entrance doors of the coaches are automatically closed after train departure.
Such coaches have already replaced the older compositions of two fast trains along the routes Sofia –Lom – Sofia and Sofia – Blagoevgrad - Sofia. As of September, the express trains “Diana” (Sofia – Yambol – Sofia) and “Chaika” (Sofia – Bourgas – Sofia) run with recycled German coaches of Intercity type.
