Results from prevention measures against fare-dodgers

“Bulgarian State Railways” EAD implemented additional ticket controls as prevention against fare-dodgers. As of 29-th September the access to regional and suburban trains, departing from Platform 2 of Sofia Central Station, has been restricted by means of barriers where advance ticket and pass controls are performed.
This measure had immediate results. Only for the first week of the implementation of this measure ticket sales of Sofia Central Station grew averagely by 35 % per day. For some trains, ticket sales even doubled.
