The new Executive director of BDZ EAD entered upon office

Today the new Executive director of “Bulgarian State Railways” EAD, Hristo Monov, officially entered upon office. The whole professional career of Mr Monov has been committed to the railway system. He has taken different positions in the sphere of railway operations and cargo services.
“Bulgarian State Railways” EAD transport only one train per day for Kremikovtsi

Since yesterday “Bulgarian State Railways” EAD have been transporting only one train per day for Kremikovtsi. The freight composition hauls coal from Bourgas for the metallurgical plant. The railway operators performs this single transport to ensure the technological minimum of the metallurgical process. In previous months, “Bulgarian State Railways” EAD transported on the average 17 trains per day for the plant.
BDZ EAD are ready to provide wagons if Kremikovtsi pay their liabilities

In connection with certain statements for the media in the sense that the metallurgical plant “Kremikovtsi” may reduce the volume of its production or cancel work altogether, “Bulgarian State Railways” EAD have informed the CEO, Mr Jagannadham, that the railway operator has 100 empty wagons at Bourgas station and further 50 empty wagons at Lom station available, which can be dispatched within one hour for loading in the ports after the metallurgical plant disburses its overdue liabilities to “BDZ” EAD for the hitherto implemented transport services. In this situation the railway carrier bears no responsibility for the production process in the plant and the consequences of its cancellation.
Today, the first electric multiple unit (EMU) of class Desiro, delivered by Siemens for the needs of “Bulgarian State Railways” EAD, made a demonstration run from Sofia to Septemvri

Two regional trains between Sofia and Doupnitsa will run with renovated coaches

As of Sunday (9th December), when the new train timetable enters into force, “Bulgarian State Railways” EAD will launch the first regional train with a composition of renovated German coaches. This is the regional train No 50225 to Doupnitsa, which departs at 18:00 from Sofia Central Station. On the next day, the regional train No 50 220 from Doupnitsa to Sofia, departing at 04:20 a.m., will also run with these coaches.

The changes in the passenger tariff of “Bulgarian State Railways” EAD will enter into force together with the new train timetable, i.e. on 9th December.

The new train timetable, proposed by “Bulgarian State Railways” EAD and developed by the National Railway Infrastructure company, enters into force as of 9th December. The railway carrier has envisaged within the new train schedule to continue the replacement of current train compositions with rennovated coaches and to replace step-by-step the current EMUs with the new electric train-sets of Siemens.

Today the fast train No 8615 from Sofia via Plovdiv to Bourgas at 13:30 departed with a renewed composition of recycled German coaches. As of tomorrow, fast train No 8610 from Bourgas via Plovdiv to Sofia, which departs from Bourgas at 06:00, will also operate with such coaches.

Today the fast train No 3621 from Sofia to Bourgas at 07:20 departed with a renewed composition of recycled German coaches. As of tomorrow, the reverse fast train No 3622 from Bourgas to Sofia, which departs from Bourgas at 14:20, will also operate with such coaches. These two fast trains will run with identical coach compositions, including five recycled second-hand coaches.

As of tomorrow (1st November) the fast train No 2611 from Sofia to Varna, which departs from Sofia Central Station at 09:50, will operate with a renewed composition of recycled German coaches. As of 2nd November, the reverse fast train No 2610 from Varna to Sofia, which departs from Varna at 10:45, will also operate with such coaches. These two fast trains will run with identical coach compositions, including five recycled German coaches and a renovated buffet-car.
All trains will be heated as of tomorrow

As of tomorrow, “Bulgarian State Railways” EAD will heat all categories of passenger trains. In accordance with regulatory basis, train heating should be turned on as of 1st November.

As of today the fast train No 5625 from Sofia to Blagoevgrad, which departs from Sofia Central Station at 20:00, runs with a new composition of renovated German-made coaches. The fast train No 5620 from Blagoevgrad to Sofia, which departs from Blagoevgrad at 06:15, will run with the new composition as of tomorrow.
Results from prevention measures against fare-dodgers

“Bulgarian State Railways” EAD implemented additional ticket controls as prevention against fare-dodgers. As of 29-th September the access to regional and suburban trains, departing from Platform 2 of Sofia Central Station, has been restricted by means of barriers where advance ticket and pass controls are performed.
BDZ EAD put in operation new coaches in four more trains

On 25th September the afternoon express train “Diana” from Sofia to Yambol, which departs from Sofia Central Station at 16:30, will travel with a new composition, including the newly-delivered German Intercity coaches. As of 26th September the other express train “Diana” from Yambol to Sofia, which departs from Yambol at 15:00, will also travel with the new coaches. The composition of the two express trains “Diana” also includes a specialized coach for disabled passengers and a buffet-car.
