Trains were again attacked with stones

This week again two trains of „Bulgarian State Railways“ EAD were attacked with stones. No passengers or railway personnel were contused, but such acts of vandalism threaten traffic safety, the life of passengers and railways personnel and can result in serious accidents.
On Monday at 19:30 in the vicinity of Dragichevo station, unknown offenders threw stones at a regional train, running from Sofia to Pernik, and broke a side window of a passenger coach.
Last night at 18:35 in the vicinity of Pernik staion, unknown offenders threw stones at a Desiro, operating as a fast train from Sofia to Kiustendi. In result of this vandalism was cracked the right side windowpane of the passenger compartment.
Let us recall that since the commissioning of the first new Desiros till the present moment 7 windows were cracked in result of stone attacks.
The costs, incurred by «Bulgarian State Railways» EAD, to cover damages only for this last case amount to over 3 000 EUR.
