Vandal passengers slit up the seats in a Desiro trainset

Last night (7th November 2007), unknown offenders slit up the upholstery of four seats in a new diesel trainset Desiro. The vandal act took place during the regular operation of the trainset, which served the evening regional train from Plovdiv to Dimitrovgrad. The damage was established by the head of the train crew when the Desiro reached Parvomai, which is one of the intermediate stations along the train route.

Passenger in a train was wounded by a stone

Yesterday at about 18:30 a regional train from Stara Zagora to Gorna Oryahovitsa was attacked with stones in the line section between Stara Zagora and Zmeiovo. A passenger was lightly wounded in the head. The train crew called the emergency medical services and the passenger was taken to hospital in Kazanlak.

Passenger without a ticket hit a ticket-collector

Yesterday, 30th November, in the afternoon fast train from Sofia to Vidin a passenger without a ticket hit the ticket-collector, Detelin Pekov. In result of the blow were damaged the vocal cords of the railway employee as well as his swallowing function.

Three more trains were attacked with stones last night

Yesterday, 20th November 2006, three passenger trains were attacked with stones in different regions of the country. In result of the ill-intentioned incidents were broken three windows and a door glass-pane. No passengers or personnel of „Bulgarian State Railways“ EAD were injured.

This week again two trains of „Bulgarian State Railways“ EAD were attacked with stones. No passengers or railway personnel were contused, but such acts of vandalism threaten traffic safety, the life of passengers and railways personnel and can result in serious accidents.

Today at about 15:30 a Suzuki crossed unlawfully a railway level crossing in the vicinity of Trud station and crashed into a passing EMU, running along the route from Plovdiv to Hisar.

A passenger train crashed into a metal object on the rail track

Today around 12:10 pm in the railway line section between Iskar and Poduene the locomotive of the “Chaika” express train, this travels from Bourgas to Sofia, crashed into a metal object lying on the rail track. As a result of the collision the running gear of the locomotive has been damaged.
